Ben Roethlisberger Mentioned by Stormy Daniels During Donald Trump Trial

Adult actress Stormy Daniels again brought up former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in connection to her accusations against former president Donald Trump during his criminal trail on 34 felony charges of falsifying documents.

Trump is alleged to have falsified business records after directing attorney Michael Cohen to pay Daniels, legally Stephanie Clifford, $130,000 in hush money to cover up an affair between the two that occurred before Trump ran for president in 2016.

Daniels had retold the details of the affair, which tangentially involve Roethlisberger, in her book, Full Disclosure, which came out in 2018.

Daniels said in her book that she met Roethlisberger through Trump, and recounted the then-business mogul asking the Steelers quarterback to walk her to hotel room. Daniels wrote in her book that he tried to kiss her and that she was “terrified” by Roethlisberger. Daniels had also told the story to InTouch Magazine in 2011. Roethlisberger refused to comment on the matter when asked about it in 2018.

Daniels testified about the encounter in court on Tuesday, again recounting that Trump introduced her to Roethlisberger in Lake Tahoe in 2006, according to a transcript of testimony posted by Tyler McBrien of LawFare. She recalled trying on Roethlisberger’s Super Bowl XL ring, which he had just won earlier that year.

The train prosecuting trump has been underway in New York since April 15, and is expected to continue for several more weeks. The charges carry a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, but would not disqualify Trump from continuing his candidacy in the 2024 presidential election, for which he is the expected Republican nominee.

Roethlisberger retired from the Steelers after the 2021 season as one of the team’s all-time most decorated players. He played 18 NFL seasons, all with the Steelers. Since his retirement, he has been active in podcasting.
