The Miami Heat made a move to address the area many expected them to before the Feb. 8 trade deadline. On Tuesday, Miami acquired Terry Rozier from the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Kyle Lowry and a 2027 first-round draft pick, as The Athletic's Shams Charania reported.
Rozier, who's in the midst of the best statistical season of his NBA career, had a message after touching down in Miami following the trade.
"This is home for me ... I'm glad to be a part of Heat Culture, let's get it. Y'all going to see what all the hype's about," Rozier said, as the team revealed on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Rozier sounds like someone ready to embrace the famous "Heat Culture," and his play this season should give fans plenty to be excited about.
The 29-year-old guard averages 23.2 points per game on a career-best 45.9% shooting from the field. He's also in the midst of his best season as a passer, averaging 6.6 assists per game, an impressive 1.5 more than the next-closest season, which came in 2022-23.
Rozier spent four seasons with the Boston Celtics before joining the Hornets, and 2023-24 marked his fifth season in Charlotte.
With the addition of Rozier, the Heat add a playmaking point guard who's also more than capable of distributing, and this deal makes them an even more legitimate threat to push for a return to the NBA Finals.
