Sometimes, you just have a bad night, even if you’re an NBA player.

Such was the case on Wednesday for Tony Snell of the New Orleans Pelicans.

In the Pelicans’ game against the Orlando Magic, Snell put on a clinic for how not to play basketball, especially down the stretch.

Snell’s final stat line was pretty pathetic, as in 31 minutes of play last night, he did not score a single point, nor did he pick up an assist.

He did grab a rebound and also had two steals, but he went 0-for-4 from the field and 0-for-3 from three-point range.

How Does This Happen?

This is quite unfortunate.

On one hand, you can’t help but feel sorry for Snell.

Everyone knows he’s kicking himself after such a rough performance.

Everyone has been there at least once in their lives, whether it’s sports or anything else.

On the other hand, though, it really makes you cringe, especially if you’re a Pelicans fan.

You feel sorry for all the Pelicans fans that had to witness this embarrassing display of basketball in person.

But it’s quite rare to see a performance this bad, so at least a little history was made, just not in the way Snell or the Pelicans had foreseen.

People will have to go back into the record books to find a performance that was anywhere near this bad.

In many ways, this is unprecedented, and we may never see something like this ever again.

At least Snell and the Pelicans hope this never happens again, for them anyways.

There’s always next game, and you can bet Snell will be extra motivated to silence the critics and put on a better show.
