The Denver Nuggets celebrated their first NBA title in 47 years on Thursday and a massive crowd turned out for the championship parade.
It was mostly a good time, with a couple of potential hiccups. One of them could have turned out far worse than it actually did.
At one point during the celebration, a random fan threw a beer can toward the truck carrying Nuggets star Nikola Jokic that ended up striking his wife, Natalija, in the face.

Nuggets beat writer Vinny Bennedetto checked in with the team and it sounds like she was okay after that incident, but it was still scary given how close their daughter was to all of it.
Fans throwing beer cans and other objects to players during these parades has become a trend in recent years, but there is an obvious danger at play if somebody is not paying attention or if the throw is off line. After all, we are talking about random fans who have probably had a few beers of their own, throwing what are essentially aluminum rocks.
That same truck was involved in another incident just a few minutes later, when a police officer's leg became stuck under a wheel. That officer is reportedly undergoing surgery.
