New York Knicks Sign New Player Before Bucks Game
USA TODAY Sports

On Saturday afternoon, the New York Knicks  are hosting the Milwaukee Bucks at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Before the game, the team announced that they had signed a new player.

Via Knicks PR: "The New York Knicks announced today that the team has signed center Dmytro Skapintsev to a two-way contract."

Skapintsev has played in 15 G League games so far this season and is averaging 5.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.2 blocks per contest while shooting 51.5% from the field.

The 25-year-old has yet to make his NBA debut but is available for Saturday's game (h/t Fred Katz of The Athletic).

As for the Knicks, they are 16-11 in their first 27 games, which has them as the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference.

They are 6-4 over their last ten games and in the middle of a two-game winning streak.

Most recently, they beat the Brooklyn Nets (at Barclays Center) by a score of 121-102.

All-Star forward Julius Randle led the way with 26 points, seven rebounds and four assists while shooting 9/20 from the field in 34 minutes of playing time.

Following Saturday's game, the Knicks will host the Bucks (again) on Monday at Madison Square Garden.

At home, they are 7-3 in ten games.

The Knicks have made the NBA playoffs in two out of the previous three seasons.

They are coming off a year where they won their first NBA playoff series since the 2013 season (they lost to the Miami Heat in the second round).
