NBA star takes the stage at Paramore show

Paramore's special guest may have been nervous Monday night. Then again, he's used to taking center stage at the Chase Center.

The Warriors' Steph Curry joined Paramore on stage to sing "Misery Business" on Monday, sounding surprisingly good for a man whose day job is basketball. For once in his career, Curry towered over someone at his home arena, standing a full foot taller than 5'2" lead singer Hayley Williams.

Wearing a hoodie, a backwards cap and glasses, Curry belted out the song like a Paramore superfan. But as enthusiastic as the crowd and the NBA superstar were, Williams acknowledged that no one was as popular as Steph Curry in the Warriors' home arena.

"So look, you know us and Steph, we go back a few years. And tonight is our reunion," Williams told the crowd. "Tonight we’re going to sing something together. Listen, from the moment Steph takes the mic, this is no longer a Paramore show. This is a Steph Curry show."

Then ticker tape rained down like it was a championship parade.

This guest appearance came a week after Curry showed up in a Tobe Nwigwe video. Although Curry learned his verse from the song, written from Curry's own perspective for a documentary about Steph, he knew the Paramore song cold.

Curry and Paramore really do have a long history together. Five years ago, Paramore crashed Curry's 30th birthday party, and Williams even led the crowd in singing him "Happy Birthday."

Paramore also performed, along with Bay Area rapper and Warriors super fan E-40. We'd bet Curry knows all the words to "Tell Me When To Go" as well.

There's no telling what Curry's next musical endeavor will be, but it may be no coincidence that Curry warmed up his voice at a Paramore show the same week that Shaquille O'Neal (aka DJ Diesel) performs at Outside Lands. He's done hip-hop and indie rock - why not add electronic music to his resume too?
