As if we needed further proof that we are living in a Bizarro universe, former NBA player Nate Robinson said that he wants to face off against YouTuber Jake Paul in the boxing ring. Yes, you read that right.
Robinson told TMZ Sports that he was tired of Paul being a bully and only fighting people he knew he could beat, so he wants the chance to take him down with the gloves on.
"I'm not going for the bulls--t," Robinson said. "I want all the smoke. I'm a top-tier athlete! You beat[ing] me would probably be the biggest accomplishment for your boxing career."
Robinson said he doesn't have beef with Paul but he is more than ready to box the controversial influencer.
"I'm putting my everything on the line for you," Robinson said. "Let's get it done. It's that simple."
Robinson is obviously not a trained fighter but he explained that with some training, he would be confident in his ability to take down the 23-year-old.
"If I get trained with somebody like a [Mike] Tyson, [Floyd] Mayweather, [Terence] Crawford, [Vasyl] Lomachenko, if I fight and I train with some of the best of the best in the world, like please, I don't think he stands a chance," the 35-year-old Seattle native said.
Will Paul accept Robinson's challenge? It seems like he would be open to it, especially if it gave him the chance to get more publicity. Paul is currently 1-0 in his professional boxing career, having beaten fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib via technical knockout in January.
Earlier this week, Paul retweeted a photo implying that he was planning on taking on KSI next, as the YouTuber beat Jake's brother Logan in the ring in 2018. Perhaps Paul will put that plan on pause once he sees Robinson's challenge.
