NASCAR announces targeted start time for AdventHealth 400 at Kansas amid rain delay

NASCAR has officially announced some key start times for today’s AdventHealth 400 at Kansas Speedway following a rain delay that bumped things back quite a bit.

NASCAR has told teams to be to their cars by 5:30 p.m. ET, with driver intros set to go off at 5:45 p.m. The invocation will be at 5:55 p.m.

There’s no official time yet for engines to be fired up, but the hope is to do that shortly after the invocation and the national anthem.

The crews will be on the track with jet driers getting things ready to go on what promises to be an exciting night for the sport. The green flag was originally scheduled for 3:13 p.m. ET.

The good news is that the Kansas Speedway does have lights, so the race will happen after the track is dried and driver intros can take place.

The AdventHealth 400 will be led to green by Christopher Bell.

While rain has messed with a couple races this year, the impacts have been light so far. Some minor puddling was an issue at Talladega SuperSpeedway two weeks ago, causing some nervy moments for drivers and even a spin-out or two.

But for the most part, this season has been unaffected by rain.

Christopher Bell will lead AdventHealth 400 to green

When this race does get going today, Christopher Bell will be out front. Bell has won more pole awards than any other driver in the Next Gen era. This Kansas pole gives him a great opportunity to get his season going in a positive direction again.

The last month has been hell for Bell’s standing in the points. Starting on the pole, Bell has the best starting position of the season and he’s ready to get the finish to go with it.

Bell has made the Championship 4 for the last two years. He does have a win this year, at Phoenix to boot, but everything else has been… rough. Toyota is strong at Kansas and he has the pole, so his chance at picking up a top-5 is solid.

The AdventHealth 400 is going to be a good race and could be fascinating to watch under the lights. Multiple grooves, fast laps, a ton of eager and hungry drivers – get ready for one of the best races of the season.
