Baseball is a sport of legends with heroes enshrined in the hallowed halls of Cooperstown. But what if I told you that one man, Yoan Moncada, could single-handedly change the course of history and redefine what it means to be a ball player?

Picture This

Moncada, the Cuban sensation and international music star, steps up to the plate. The crowd holds its breath as he takes a big swing and pulls a muscle running to first base.

But fear not, Moncada isn't just a baseball player; he's a maestro, an expert of the stretch. With a yoga mat in one hand and a bat in the other, Moncada embarks on a journey that will alter baseball forever.

Create An Alternate Reality and Live In It.

In this alternate universe, the White Sox embrace Moncada's unique stretching regimen, integrating ballet, yoga, tai chi, and interpretive dance. His teammates follow suit, transforming into a balletic ensemble that confounds opponents and captivates fans.

Fans and media laughed at first and viewed this as a gimmick to get fans in the park. However, as usual, the organization didn't allow public embarrassment to deter them.

Moncada's stretching revolution takes the league by storm. Fans from around the globe flock to witness his pregame routines, which evolve to include daring acts like fire breathing and sword swallowing (don't ask how he got the swords past security).

Unsatisfied

As the legend of Moncada grows, so does his impact on the game. He knew he'd transform the entire organization, but he set his sights on baseball immortality. With each stretch, he inched closer to his goal.

And then the moment of truth finally arrives. The Hall of Fame ballot is released, and there, among the names, is Yoan Moncada. With the baseball world holding its breath, the votes are tallied.

And then, the announcement comes: Yoan Moncada is the first active player elected to the Hall of Fame.

Social media is abuzz. Fans express their joy with Moncada GIFs and emotional emojis, the likes of which we've never seen. Across the globe, yoga instructors nod in approval. Yoan Moncada, who stretched his way to greatness, takes his place among the game's legends.

The White Sox third baseman needed just one more vote to join Mariano Rivera as a unanimous selection. Yet, amid the joy, there's a solitary dissenting voice. Known only as Mr. Clean, this voter criticizes Moncada's stretching, arguing it should be optional, not mandatory.

He released this statement to Sox On Tap:

"When a team tries to build a culture, you have to pull from the same rope. If our their stretching was optional, then it needs to be optional. Optional means you can be there if you want to be or not. Otherwise, it's a requirement, which is different from what they communicated.

"He should have been taught a lesson and sent to the minors to play alongside Oscar Colas, who I've heard is terrible. Hall of Famers are obsessed with winning; they're gamers, and he wasn't one."

Undeniable Greatness

Despite this, Moncada stands among baseball's greats, a testament to his transformative power on and off the field. Moncada stood on that stage in Cooperstown at his induction, knowing he didn't just stretch his body. He pulled the very fabric of the game itself.
