Watch: George Springer saves Blue Jays with diving catch in ninth inning

The Toronto Blue Jays improved to 15-8 on the season with a 3-2 win against the Houston Astros that came with a fair amount of drama at the finish.

With a runner on second, the Astros' Alex Bregman lined a shot into right field that looked like it would have a chance to score the tying run. Instead, Blue Jays right fielder George Springer made a highlight reel, diving catch to preserve Toronto's lead.

Blue Jays closer Jordan Romano struck out Astros shortstop Jeremy Peña on the next at bat to leave the runner stranded at third and end the game.

Houston's Framber Valdez had a no-hit bid against Toronto through five innings Sunday. In the sixth inning, Bo Bichette got the Blue Jays' first hit in the game by blasting a two-run homer over the right field wall.

Toronto entered Sunday with the MLB lead in home runs. Bichette's was the team's 31st of the season.
