Spring training roundup: Colton Cowser, Ramon Urias help Orioles pound Twins

Colton Cowser and Ramon Urias each homered and drove in three runs as the Baltimore Orioles rolled to a 12-3 victory over the host Minnesota Twins Wednesday afternoon at Fort Myers, Fla.

Cowser, Urias, Cedric Mullins and Michael Perez all had two hits to pace Baltimore's 17-hit attack. Urias hit a two-run homer in the second inning, Cowser slugged a three-run shot in the third and Perez delivered a two-run single in the seventh.

Dean Kremer (1-0) gave up one run and two hits in two innings for the Orioles. Pablo Lopez (0-1) gave up two runs and three hits in two innings for the Twins.

Jake Rucker hit a slot blast for Minnesota.

Nationals 4, Red Sox 3

Joey Gallo hit a two-run, tiebreaking double in the fifth inning to help Washington slide past visiting Boston at Palm Beach, Fla.

Victor Robles and Jesse Winker had run-scoring singles earlier in the third before Gallo put the Nationals ahead with the two-bagger inside the first-base line.

Mark Kolozsvary had two hits and two RBIs for the Red Sox.

Mets 3, Cardinals 0

Pete Alonso and Trayce Thompson each belted solo shots as New York blanked visiting St. Louis at Port St. Lucie, Fla.

Seven Mets pitchers combined on a five-hitter and struck out seven batters.

Alec Burleson had two hits for the Cardinals, who were hitless in six at-bats with runners in scoring position.

Blue Jays 3, Rays 2

Rafael Lantigua hit a tiebreaking sacrifice fly in the seventh inning to help Toronto knock off visiting Tampa Bay at Dunedin, Fla.

Paolo Espino, Devereaux Harrison and Andrew Bash (1-0) all pitched two scoreless innings for the Blue Jays.

Ronny Simon's sacrifice fly and Amed Rosario's RBI double plated the Rays' runs in the fifth inning.

Astros 6, Marlins 1

David Hensley stroked a two-run double to cap a four-run third inning to help visiting Houston defeat Miami at Jupiter, Fla.

Trey Cabbage and Dixon Machado joined Hensley in having two hits for the Astros.

Miami's lone run crossed on Jhonny Pereda's sacrifice fly in the ninth inning.

Tigers 5, Pirates 3

Bligh Madris, Anthony Bemboom and Wenceel Perez all homered to help Detroit dispatch host Pittsburgh at Bradenton, Fla.

Bemboom hit the tiebreaking homer with one out in the top of the eighth off Dauri Moreta (0-1) and Perez homered later in the inning.

Tsung-Che Cheng hit a two-run shot in the third inning and Connor Joe homered later in the frame for the Pirates' runs.

Braves 7, Phillies 7

Bryson Horne hit a two-run homer in the ninth and Cody Milligan plated another with a groundout and Atlanta's three-run outburst forged a tie with host Philadelphia at Clearwater, Fla.

Chadwick Tromp slugged a two-run blast and Michael Harris II hit a solo shot for the Braves, who had 10 hits.

J.T. Realmuto hit a solo blast and Alec Bohm stroked a two-run shot for the Phillies.
