MLB bets: 3 best HR bets for Wednesday 4/3: Power in the forecast

Boom! Cody Bellinger went yard on Tuesday to cash our +500 home run ticket on the Chicago Cubs outfielder, and we're looking for more winners on this rainy Wednesday around the country. With so many weather concerns on the schedule, we're targeting indoor games or cities with clear forecasts. Here are our three favorite home run props for the night.

Yordan Alvarez (+280 FanDuel)

Blue Jays vs. Astros, 8:10 p.m. ET

It's been a slow start to the season for Yordan Alvarez. The Houston Astros slugger is batting just .125 with no extra-base hits through six games, but this is the perfect spot for him to break the slump.

In 15 career at-bats against Toronto Blue Jays starter Chris Bassitt, Alvarez is batting .333 with four home runs and a 1.133 slugging percentage. Don't be surprised if Alvarez snaps his early power slump with multiple home runs on Wednesday night.

Teoscar Hernandez (+420 FD)

Dodgers vs. Giants, 10:10 p.m. ET

Unlike Alvarez, Teoscar Hernandez has been on a power surge to start the 2024 season. The Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder already has four home runs and nine RBIs in eight games with his new team.

Kyle Harrison is a tough matchup for L.A., but Hernandez crushes left-handed pitching. He led the Seattle Mariners with seven home runs and a .510 slugging percentage against lefties last season, and he's 3-6 against lefties this year with a double and two homers. This is a solid price on one of the hottest power hitters in MLB.

Matt Chapman (+500 DraftKings)

Dodgers vs. Giants, 10:10 p.m. ET

We're rolling with two picks in Wednesday night's matchup between the Dodgers and Giants because the forecast in Los Angeles looks beautiful with a mild wind blowing out to right-center field. For San Francisco, let's roll with Matt Chapman at +500.

Chapman is slugging .577 this season with two home runs and six RBIs in 26 at-bats. The Giants third baseman has only one hit against Tyler Glasnow in seven career at-bats, but this is too good of a price to pass up on San Fran's second-best power hitter.
