Lines suggest Yankees star slugger Aaron Judge expected to break AL single-season HR record

Thus far, New York Yankees All-Star slugger Aaron Judge rejecting a seven-year, $213.5 million contract extension offered by the club before the start of the 2022 MLB season and betting on himself seems like nothing short of a brilliant decision. 

As noted by ESPN stats, Judge began Friday leading the entire league with 55 home runs, 118 RBI and a 1.092 OPS, and many within the baseball community view the four-time All-Star as the unnamed American League Most Valuable Player. 

Bettors believe he's on track to do more than just hoist that individual trophy. 

Per Michael Leboff of Action Network (h/t New York Post), Judge is a -1100 favorite to earn MVP honors, and Caesars has him at -160 to reach at least 62 home runs to break the club and AL records for round-trippers in a single season of 61 set by Yankees legend Roger Maris in 1961. Fellow Yankees icon Babe Ruth sits behind Maris with 60 home runs he hit in 1927. 

Judge is at +130 to finish at under 61.5 home runs, meaning he theoretically has approximately a 61.5% chance of setting a new Yankees and AL mark.
