Hoskins Speaks About Time With Phillies

With Rhys Hoskins finding a new home with the Milwaukee Brewers, he wanted Philadelphia Phillies fans to know how much he appreciated them. The ending to the relationship was an unfortunate one and shows that this is a business.

However, Hoskins understood it was a business and that the Phillies had to make a decision. His replacement at first base is Bryce Harper, so there's not much for Hoskins to be upset over when it comes to that.

Still, leaving a city that he loved deeply wasn't easy.

He was drafted by the organization in the fifth round of the 2014 MLB Draft and made his debut in the 2017 season. Hoskins burst onto the scene in his second year, hitting 34 home runs.

As he reflects on his time with the organization, he says that he can also call Philadelphia home. Hoskins had the following to say, according to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com.

"I'm sure it won't be the last time I see a lot of those same people. I hope not, just because I feel like I'll always be able to call Philly home. But I'm excited for a new chapter and to revisit those memories when the time is right."

Fans feel a similar way as the right-handed slugger and have shown him appreciation on social media. 

The Brewers not only get a slugger, they also get a good person and a clubhouse favorite. When healthy, Hoskins has 30-plus home run potential. He's hit at least 27 home runs in every season he's played more than 107 games.

For a Milwaukee lineup that's historically looked for power and offense in general, Hoskins was an excellent signing.
