Angels Owner Arte Moreno Confirms He Wasn't Willing to Meet Dodgers' Price for Shohei Ohtani

You may want to look away for this one, Angel fans. 

Los Angeles Angels owner Arte Moreno spoke to Jeff Flecther of the Southern California News Group and said he was unwilling to meet the Dodger's price for two-way superstar and once-in-a-lifetime generation player Shohei Ohtani. 

And he didn't even elaborate on it. He told Flecther the worst two-letter word in the English language. 

When asked if the Angels were willing to meet that price, Moreno said: “No.”

I mean, are any of us seriously surprised? Are we disappointed? Of course, we are, but what else is new? 

The fact that the Angels did nothing to retain their superstar player and let him walk to their freeway rivals is poor management.

This gives Angel fans more ammo into why they dislike Moreno. 

Why would Moreno not do everything to keep his breadwinner? Was the Tommy John surgery a huge turn-off? 

Did Moreno view his age and length of contract too much for his liking? Or did Moreno want to shift towards a new direction? 

We may never know. 

Ohtani gave his all to the Angels organization. Although he didn't lead them to the postseason, he was the reason the Halos were even slightly relevant. Now, all that is gone, and their former superstar has a chance to build a dynasty with their neighbors up north.
