Andrew Benintendi Launches First Home Run in White Sox Uniform
Rick Scuteri-USA TODAY Sports

The White Sox free agent acquisition hit his first home run in Cactus League play on Saturday.

Chicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Benintendi launched his first home run of Spring Training on Saturday. The homer came in the first inning against Dodgers starter Michael Grove to tie the game at one.

A lot of talk around the acquisition of Benintendi this offseason stemmed from the lefty's lack of power production in 2022. The 28-year-old former first-round draft pick only left the yard five times in 2022. It was his first season dropping below the double-digit mark since his rookie campaign in 2016.

Seeing some power from Benintendi is certainly an encouraging sign. Entering play on Saturday, the lefty had only mustered four hits in 27 plate appearances this spring. His previous four hits were all singles.

Andrew Benintendi signed a franchise-record five-year deal worth $75 million with the Chicago White Sox this offseason.
