Final round of Women's PGA delayed by inclement weather
John Jones-USA TODAY Sports

Play was suspended during the final round of the Women's PGA Championship on Sunday in Springfield, N.J., for what was labeled as "a dangerous situation."

Rain and lightning are in the forecast at Baltusrol Golf Club, with the final group through seven holes.

Leona Maguire of Ireland was in the lead through three rounds at 7 under par but was 1 over through her first seven holes Sunday to drop into a tie for second place. There was a two-way tie for the lead at 7 under between Xiyu Lin of China and Jenny Shin of South Korea when the delay began at 1:02 p.m.

Lin was at 5 under through 10 holes Sunday, while Carlota Ciganda of Spain was at 7 under through 14 holes to reach 6 under for the tournament and move into a four-way tie for second with Maguire, Ayaka Furue of Japan and Stephanie Meadow of Northern Ireland.
