The story of this ACC Basketball Classic was the historic day for Duke's legendary point guard Bobby Hurley. He finished the evening with 19 points and 12 assists on 6 of 11 shooting. Hurley's 12 assists helped him become the NCAA's all-time leader in assists (1,046) passing NC State's Chris Corchiani. Antonio Lang chipped in 17 points and Cherokee Parks added 16 points with 12 rebounds.
