Let us help you build your bankroll for next week's Open

With the Open Championship just a week away, many of the top golfers in the world have traveled across the pond early to get some links practice in at the Genesis Scottish Open. Xander Schauffele returns to The Renaissance Club to attempt his title defense, but World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is unsurprisingly the betting favorite at +650 to win the tournament.

Let's kick off our Wednesday with our favorite finishing position bets for this weekend's Scottish Open.

Xander Schauffele top-10 finish (+175 DraftKings)

Square don't care with our first selection. Schauffele enters his title defense at the Genesis Scottish Open in immaculate form, as he hasn't finished outside the top 25 in 10 straight starts. The American has six top-10 finishes over that span, and he's gained strokes both on approach and on the greens in 15 straight.

In two starts at The Renaissance Club, Schauffele has recorded a win and a T10. Count on him to be in the mix this weekend.

Robert MacIntyre top-40 finish (+100 DK)

Bobby Mac may not be a household name in professional golf, but that's because he's played on the DP World Tour for the last five years. The Scotland native has been playing well overseas with six top-20 finishes in his last nine DP World Tour starts, and he's coming off an impressive T4 at the Made in Himmerland tournament last week. In what will be a home game for MacIntyre, we think he rides his recent form to another strong finish.

In the news ...

National League wins All-Star Game to snap nine-year losing streak — The NL had lost nine straight All-Star Games leading up to Tuesday night's event, and the team looked to be headed toward a 10th late in the game. Trailing 2-1 in the top of the eighth inning, Colorado Rockies catcher Elias Diaz pumped a two-run home run over the left field wall to give the NL a 3-2 lead it would not surrender. Diaz (+6500) was named the All-Star Game MVP.

World No. 1 Iga Swiatek upset at Wimbledon — The No. 1 seed on the women's side of the bracket has been dethroned at Wimbledon. Swiatek, who's won three of the last five Grand Slams, lost to Ukrainian Elina Svitolina, 5-7, 7-6, 2-6, in a stunning upset. Svitolina was as high as +500 to knock off the top seed. With Swiatek out of the picture, Aryna Sabalenka is now the +150 favorite to win the tournament.

Francis Ngannou, Tyson Fury boxing match announced for October — Ngannou is stepping out of the cage and into the ring. On Tuesday, news dropped that the former UFC heavyweight champion will fight Tyson Fury in a boxing match on Oct. 28 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Fury has opened as a massive -1000 favorite, with Ngannou coming back as a +600 underdog.
