Las Vegas Raiders punter AJ Cole gives electric command to start Pennzoil 400

The folks in Las Vegas were treated to an extra special command ahead of the Pennzoil 400 with AJ Cole, Raiders punter, starting things off. Cole was fired up and ready to go this NASCAR Sunday.

There are times when the commands can be too over the top. They can try too hard, you know? This was a perfect command, just what you want, and it got today started off on the right foot.

We should be treated to some great racing in the Pennzoil 400 to go along with this great command. If this doesn’t get your blood pumping, then I don’t know what will.

AJ Cole is a talented punter. He is also a talented Grand Marshal. Hopefully, the Cup Series drivers put on a show for the NFL star while he’s in the crowd.

Cole wasn’t the only NFL player in town for the NASCAR action. Demarcus Robinson and Steve Avila of the LA Rams stopped by to talk to drivers and take in Xfinity Series action. A ton of stars in town this weekend and that is good for the sport to see everyone enjoying some stock car racing.

Pennzoil 400 begins the ‘real season’

Of course, Las Vegas isn’t a superspeedway. No drafting, no restrictor plates, none of that. Just 1.5 miles, a wide track, and 400 miles of high-speed racing. The Pennzoil 400 has been a fun race in the last couple of years and I think we are going to get another exciting edition today.

Joey Logano starts on the pole for this race. It is the second year in a row he’s won the pole award for the Pennzoil 400. However, he is going to have to battle hard with the Hendrick cars. Kyle Larson and William Byron won at this track last year and are going to try and pick up another victory in the desert.

NASCAR has had a hot start to the season. Even though Daytona had a ton of rain, it was a successful weekend. Then we had one of the greatest finishes ever at Atlanta as Daniel Suárez won in the three-wide affair.

Stars are in town, the cars are on the track, and we are going to be in store for 267 laps of Cup Series racing. Get your favorite snack and tune in on FOX.
