Former Wisconsin volleyball star Dana Rettke earned one more collegiate award to add to her collection. Rettke was named the Big Ten Female Athlete of the Year.

Rettke was perhaps the biggest reason Wisconsin won three-straight Big Ten championships and the program’s first NCAA national championship in December.

Earlier this week, she was named Wisconsin’s Female Athlete of the Year. She earned the 2021 AVCA National Player of the Year award last winter.

Because of the extra year of eligibility the COVID-19 pandemic provided NCAA athletes, Rettke was the first five-time first team All-American in AVCA history. She was also a five-time first-team All-Big Ten selection.

Rettke also earned a FIVB Nationals League gold medal with Team USA. In addition, Rettke helped the United States qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Rettke is currently playing professionally in Milan, Italy with Vero Volley Monzo. The team qualified for the upcoming Champions League.
