Tennessee Vols cornerback Kamal Hadden is one of three UT players that are expected to be selected in the 2024 NFL Draft, along with running back Jaylen Wright and quarterback Joe Milton (a couple of other former Vols could also be selected, but they're in the late round/UDFA conversation).
The latest mock draft from ESPN has Hadden as a mid-round selection, predicting that he'll be selected by the Green Bay Packers with the No. 169 overall pick (Round Five).
Mock drafts rarely get mid to late round predictions correct. Those mock drafts, however, at least give us a good idea of where a player will be selected.
When it comes to Hadden, if a franchise lands the former Tennessee cornerback in the mid to late rounds of the draft, it will be considered a major steal.
The Michigan native isn't receiving nearly enough hype ahead of the draft. Hadden has the athleticism to excel in the NFL. And after some tough moments during the 2022 season at Tennessee, Hadden developed into one of the best cornerbacks in the nation in 2023.
Kamal Hadden (Tennessee) is an underrated CB in this class. Out of 400 qualifying CBs in 2023:
— James Foster (@NoFlagsFilm) February 23, 2024
Yards/Tgt: 2.91 (3rd)
Yds/Snap: 0.52 (20th)
Passer Rtg Allowed: 7.0 (1st)
PFF Coverage grade: 90.4 (5th)
Forced Incompletion %: 24.2% (21st) pic.twitter.com/4Fln2teU8y
Hadden's athleticism combined with the way he was able to handle the outside noise at Tennessee while continuing to improve should give NFL teams confidence that the former Vol will find success at the next level.
