Report: Alabama RB Roydell Williams to Return for Final Season
Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

One of Alabama's deepest position groups in 2023 was the running backs. The group was headlined by two seniors, and one of them plans to come back for a fifth season with the Crimson Tide.

Roydell Williams will use his final year of eligibility according to a report by TideIllustrated's Tony Tsoukalas.

Williams was Alabama's No. 2 back this season. He finished the year with 111 carries for 560 yards and five rushing touchdowns with another 56 yards and touchdown through the air. He had just one carry for -1 yard against Michigan in the Rose Bowl loss.

Fellow senior running back Jase McClellan could also come back for one more season, or will likely head to the 2024 NFL Draft.

As of Thursday afternoon, Alabama's 2024 running back room will consist of junior Jam Miller, sophomores Justice Haynes and Richard Young and four-star freshman signee Kevin Riley out of Tuscaloosa County.

This story will be updated.
