Oklahoma lands massive four-star OL Eddy Pierre-Louis over Miami, Oregon and UCF

It was a long time coming for four-star offensive lineman recruit Eddy Pierre-Louis.

Pierre-Louis, from Tampa, Florida, had the option to stay near home. UCF and Miami were two of his four finalists after all – the other two being Oregon and Oklahoma.

Something about the Sooners just made too much sense for him, though. In fact, he knew he was going to commit to head coach Brent Venables' program long before he announced his decision.

“I made my mind up in the middle of September,” Pierre-Louis told On3. “I was still listening to other schools, but I have known in the back of my mind that it was Oklahoma for a while now.”

One of the big reasons the four-star feels comfortable with Oklahoma is offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh, who should have a field day coaching the 6-foot-5, 335-pound prospect.

“Me and Coach B clicked right away. We had that connection, he was easy to talk to, so you combine our relationship with his coaching style," Pierre-Louis explained, "which made a big impact. I know he will push me, make me better and I am excited about that."

The big man is also excited about what Venables brings to the Sooners.

“I love Coach Venables’ energy,” Pierre-Louis said. “He is real hyped, he loves his team and he brings that intensity on and off the field."

This is a big-time commitment for Oklahoma, not just because of Pierre-Louis' size. According to 247Sports' composite board, he is ranked as the No. 11 interior offensive lineman recruit in the 2024 class.
