New Chiefs CB Kamal Hadden had one of the most electric plays of the 2023 college football season
Knoxville News Sentinel-USA TODAY NETWORK

The Kansas City Chiefs selected Tennessee Vols cornerback Kamal Hadden in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

According to Pro Football Focus, Hadden had the lowest passer rating allowed by any cornerback in college football last season.

Not only did Hadden develop into a shutdown cornerback for the Volunteers, he also delivered one of the most electric plays of the 2023 college football season.

In Tennessee's win against South Carolina last season, Hadden intercepted a pass from Gamecocks quarterback Spencer Rattler and returned it for a touchdown just before halftime to extend the Vols' lead to 14. Tennessee would eventually beat South Carolina 41-20.

The interception was electric on TV, but you don't get the full effect until you see the field level view and the excitement of the crowd after Hadden dances his way into the end zone.

Oh yeah, that's the good stuff. The silence from the crowd while the pass is in the air and then the roar from Vols fans when Hadden makes the interception -- combined with Tennessee's coaching staff and bench going crazy -- make that one of the most electric moments you'll see in college football.

Hadden will hope to make plenty of plays like that for the Chiefs as he begins his NFL career with a coaching staff and front office that's earned a strong reputation when it comes to developing defensive backs.
