WVU Basketball retained director of men’s basketball operations Trent Michaels, the program officially announced on Tuesday morning. Michaels has been on staff under Bob Huggins and Josh Eilert for the last two seasons, entering his third with Darian DeVries.

“Trent is very organized and hard working,” DeVries said. “He will continue to do a variety of roles from scheduling to travel and helping with recruiting visits. Trent does a lot of work behind the scenes that will help in the success of our program.”
Before his director of operations role, Michaels served as a graduate assistant after four years as the team’s manager.
DeVries official staff now consists of Chester Frazier (associate HC), Kory Barnett (assistant), Nick Norton (assistant/director of player development) and Nelson Hernandez (director of player personnel/recruiting).

“In his current role, Michaels assists with the day-to-day operations of the men’s basketball program. He is responsible for scheduling the Mountaineers’ nonconference games, is the program’s budget manager, director of the Darian DeVries Basketball Camps and team travel coordinator.”
