Chris Eubank Jr (33-3, 24 KOs) has trolled Eddie Hearn on X after the Matchroom promoter criticized him for not agreeing to fight Conor Benn again (23-0, 14 KOs).The son of Chris Eubank Sr posted a famous clip from the film Jerry Maguire, asking Hearn to ‘show him the money.’ Eubank Jr also tweeted: “Jerry… I mean Eddie… you have my number. You can call me anytime & this is exactly how the conversation will go. I got Bob ‘Arum’ on the other line… I BETTER HERE YOU SAY IT!!!”

Benn and Eubank were meant to clash on October 8, 2022, but three days before fight night, the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBoC) published a statement saying that Conor Benn had failed two VADA drug tests for clomiphene. Despite Hearn and Wasserman promoter Kalle Sauerland claiming the contest would still proceed, both announced the fight would be postponed the day after the doping violation was revealed. Benn was then provisionally suspended by the UK Anti-Doping Organization (UKAD) and, to this day, is banned from fighting on home shores until he receives the final verdict from the doping panel by the end of February.

In the meantime, ‘The Destroyer’ has since fought twice in the United States – claiming a decision win over Rodolfo Orozco in September 2023 and beating Peter Dobson via unanimous decision last Saturday.

However, according to Hearn, Eubank Jr could have fought Benn instead of Dobson. “Chris Eubank Jr, what the f*** is your problem?” Hearn said in an interview with IFL TV.

“People are talking about ‘Oh, he shouldn’t make 160’. You are a 160-pounder. That guy in there has to come up two divisions to fight you. He was in with a small 154-pounder tonight and couldn’t put a dent in him. Why won’t you fight Conor Benn for millions and millions and millions? I’ll keep going, of pound?”

Benn has echoed Hearn’s sentiments on X while expressing his desire to battle Abdul Wahid (formally Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis) next. “I’m bored of the Eubank name, you lost your pen on enough occasions now. My full focus is on the munchkin.” Benn and Davis recently exchanged words on the platform, although the Brit named Devin Haney, Errol Spence, Kell Brook, and Mario Barrios as potential opponents.

Meanwhile, Chris Eubank Jr had a turbulent 2023 after getting knocked out by Liam Smith before exacting his revenge eight months later, and the former IBO super middleweight champion is yet to announce who he will face next.
