Two uncard matches down, two to go.  Next up is the highly anticipated welterweight bout between Canelo Alvarez and Shane Mosley.  The fighters are about to make their way to the ring.  The most staggering difference between the fighters is the age difference.  Alverez is 21 and Mosley is 40.

Here comes Mosley.  He's walking to the ring to the tune of "I'm Back" by T.I.

Now Alvarez walks out.  For many in attendance tonight, he's the main attraction.

Time for the introductions.  Mosley is 46-7-1 with 39 KOs.  Canelo is 39-0-1 with 29 KOs.

Here we go.

Round 1:
Suger Shane launches the jab early.  Canelo is decked out in what looks like a new sponsor's gear of Under Armour.  Nothing from Alvarez in the first minute.  He's sizing up Mosely.  Mosley continues to test the jab.  Canelo throws his first jab at 1:50.  Not much upper body movement yet from either fighter.  Canelo throws a jab followed by a right hook.  Mosley goes to the body with 3 hooks.  This was a feeling out round for both fighters.  Canelo finishes strong with 2 big hooks.

Parker: 10-9 Alvarez
Tylwalk: 10-9  Alvarez

Round 2:
Mosley is throwing a lot of jabs in there.  He follows with a wide right hook, but it's blocked.  Canelo lands a nice right hook.  His punches look stronger, but Mosley's still look faster.  Alvarez lands a big left and right hook upstairs.  Mosley can't take those punches all night.  Alvarez lands an enormous left hook and knocks Mosley off balance.  Mosley tries to clinch, but Alvarez pushes him back.  Shane lands a jab.

Parker: 10-9 Alvarez
Tylwalk: 10-9 Alvarez

Round 3:
Canelo is getting more comfortable now which spells doom for Mosley.  He's getting peppered in there.  Alvarez lands a slick straight right hand and Mosley gets knocked back again.  Mosley clinches after getting tagged once more.  Mosley comes alive and lands two punches.  Canelo lands a left uppercut and a right hook.  There's another with hook from Canelo.  Shane wiffs hard with a right hook that almost takes him off balance.  Uh oh, we have a headbutt.  Canelo is bleeding above his eye and it's officially caused by a butt.  It has taken the gas out of Canelo for the remainder of the round.

Parker: 10-9 Alvarez
Tylwalk: 10-9 Alvarez

Round 4:
The bleeding has stopped for the time being.  Canelo gets back on his game and lands an uppercut and a right hook.  Canelo lands a left to the body.  Shane is still launching the jab.  Canelo lands a big combo upstairs.  Shane's defense is shaky at best.  Canelo is picking it apart.  Canelo lands a huge right hand. It was his best of the night.  Shane's head snapped back.

Parker: 10-9 Alvarez
Tylwalk: 10-9 Alvarez

Round 5:
Andre Ward has joined the commentators ringside.  Mosley keeps the jab coming and he's landing a few.  Mosley looks busier now.  He's landing better punches now too.  This is turning into a brawl.  They are trading big shots in there.  Shane lands a right to the body and upstairs.  Shane lands a right hook.  Canelo comes back with a right hand.  Canelo lands a brilliant counter left hand before the bell.

Parker: 10-9 Alvarez
Tylwalk: 10-9 Alvarez

Round 6:
Shane looks to be loading up his right hand, but Canelo is still more accurate and is landing the harder punches.  Canelo lands a brutal left hook.  Mosley returns with a clurry.  Mosley is getting punished against the ropes.  He can't keep taking these shots.  Shane gets hit twice more and throws back.  Alvarez is teeing off.  Mosley is in the corner and continues to take more shots.

Parker: 10-9 Alvarez
Tylwalk: 10-9 Alvarez

Round 7:
You have to admire Mosley's heart.  He continues to come forward and thow.  Canelo lands two punches upstairs and a left to the body.  Mosley lands a clean right hook.  Mosley eats about 5 punches and they're all bombs.  Mosley is getting beaten up in there.  Mosley comes forward and eats three more shots from various directions.  He's still throwing though.

Parker: 10-9 Alvarez
Tylwalk: 10-9 Alvarez

Round 8:
Mosley lands a right hand, but it looks weak compared to Canelo's.  Mosley is trying to take the fight to the inside.  Mosley threw about a 10 punch combo, but they looked weak.  Alvarez lands three more bombs.  Mosley turns Canelo's head with a right hand.  Mosley is starting to swell.

Parker: 10-9 Alvarez
Tylwalk: 10-9 Alvarez

Round 9:
Mosley gets inside and throws a flurry to the body.  He doesn't want to eat the hard punches at mid-range.  Canelo lands a short right hand.  Canelo lands a body shot that doubles Mosley over.  He's hurt.  Very hurt.  He stumbles into the ropes.  Canelo goes to work to the body.  Mosley stumbles back.  Canelo is working the body exclusively.  Mosley lands a right hook.  Canelo keeps coming forward.  Canelo lands a huge left uppcut.  Mosley keeps the jab going.

Parker: 10-9 Alvarez
Tylwalk: 10-9 Alvarez

Round 10:
Mosley keeps throwing.  Mosley's punches look so weak at this point.  Shane bounces off the ropes and Canelo lands a right hand.  Canelo lands a big left hook.  He's landing at will when he wants to, but he's starting the rounds slowly.  Mosley's reflexes are a shell of what they once were.  Mosley takes another huge combo.

Parker: 10-9 Alvarez
Tylwalk: 10-9 Alvarez

Round 11:
Canelo wants to get Mosley out of there.  He lands a big left hook to start the round.  Mosley isn't going to quit.  Canelo lands a right uppercut.  He's landing at will once more.  Another shot to the body.  Mosley lands two big right hooks.  Canelo lands two to the body and one upstairs.  Mosley amazingly doesn't look hurt.  His heart is amazing.  Mosley keeps firing.

Parker: 10-9 Alvarez
Tylwalk: 10-9 Alvarez

Round 12:
Mosley lands a nice right hand.  Canelo lands a left hook.  He's going for the KO in the last round here.  Mosley has landed the most punches in the first minute.  Canelo lands a right hook.  Canelo lands a left and a right straight that snap Shane's head.  Now an uppercut.  1 minute left.  Canelo lands two more big hooks.  Shane is clinching now.  Shane keeps throwing.  They trade down the stretch.

Can 'Sugar' overpower 'Canelo?'

In the culinary world, cinnamon and sugar are two very different components that, when combined, heighten each other and (can) bring about balance. In the boxing ring, however, contrasting fighting styles can serve to disrupt one of the combatant's ability to be successful. This dynamic may also bring about disaster for the fighter who has the lesser pugilistic qualities, e...
