Giants agree to minor-league deal with Christian
The San Francisco Giants have agreed to a minor-league contract with outfielder Justin Christian, a source told FOXSports.com.
Christian, 30, played at Class AA and Class AAA in the New York Yankees’ farm system last year. He reached the majors with the Yankees in 2008, batting .250 with seven stolen bases and no home runs in 24 games.
Christian is a right-handed hitter who played primarily left field last season. He had an .801 OPS and 22 stolen bases in 103 games between the two affiliates.
The contract doesn’t include an invitation to major-league camp, the source said. Christian is currently playing for Mexico in the Caribbean Series.
