Yankees interested in lefty reliever Romero
The New York Yankees are interested in free-agent reliever J.C. Romero, according to major-league sources.
Romero's among the top left-handed relievers on the free-agent market. Injuries have limited him to 53 1/3 innings the past two seasons, but he has a 3.38 ERA during that span.
The 34-year-old has spent the past four seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies. He was a key part of the bullpen during their 2008 world championship season.
The Yankees also have interest in fellow lefty free agent Pedro Feliciano, according to Newsday, and are widely expected to pursue Scott Downs.
