Source: Durbin close to signing with Indians
Chad Durbin is close to signing a contract with the Cleveland Indians, a major-league source told FOXSports.com.
Durbin, 33, pitched exclusively in relief for the Philadelphia Phillies over the past three seasons. He went 11-7 with a 3.62 ERA in 226 innings.
The right-hander was a part-time starter with the Detroit Tigers four years ago, so he’s familiar with the American League. It’s not clear what role he would have in Cleveland, but the Indians have some uncertainty at the back end of their rotation.
