Source: Angels want to speak with Yankees exec
The New York Yankees have granted permission for vice president of amateur scouting Damon Oppenheimer to interview with the Angels regarding their vacant general manager position, a major-league source confirmed to FOXSports.com.
The New York Daily News reported Wednesday that the Yankees granted permission for both Oppenheimer and senior director of pro personnel Billy Eppler to speak with the Angels.
Angels general manager Tony Reagins resigned from the position after the team missed the playoffs for the second straight year.
