Nick Johnson to Indians
The oft-injured Nick Johnson has found a new home.
Johnson, 32, has reached agreement with the Indians on a minor-league contract, according to a major league source.
If healthy, he likely will be a left-handed alternative to first baseman Matt LaPorta and insurance for designated hitter Travis Hafner, who also bats left-handed.
Johnson spent last season with the Yankees, but did not play after May 7 because of an injury to his right wrist.
