Free agent Bannister headed to Japan
Free-agent RHP Brian Bannister headed to Japan, according to a source.
Bannister has agreed with the Tokyo Giants on a one-year deal plus a club option.
Last season with the Kansas City Royals, Bannister, who is represented by Terry Bross, had a 7-12 record with a 6.34 ERA in 23 games.
It was a rough season for Bannister. He missed five weeks with tendinitis in his pitching shoulder and then was shifted to the bullpen.
